Tartary buckwheat has received extensive attention for its remarkably high rutin content as compared to that of common buckwheat [ 2 , 5 ]. WebBuckwheat is the only cereal known to contain rutin in its seeds. Among buckwheat species, Tartary buckwheat ( F. tataricum Gaertn.) contains an approximately 100-fold greater amount of rutin in its seeds than that of common buckwheat. From these backgrounds, buckwheat has been identified as a rutin-rich material for food products.
