WebSep 25, 2024 · Natural Gaits There are five natural gaits of horses. These natural gaits include the walk, trot, canter/lope, gallop and back. Many breeds perform these gaits. They include stock horse breeds like the Quarter Horse, Paint Horse, Appaloosa, etc. and hunter or English type horses such as the Thoroughbred, Arabian, Saddlebred, Morgan, etc. WebGallop and Trot races depend on the respectively-named skills. In order to become a champion, the horse must also perform well in Speed and Dressage. Cross-country is a physically demanding discipline that requires great Stamina, but also good Jumping and Dressage skills. Access to registration depends on the Stamina skill.
